JOHN A BIRD
John A Bird Feb 2010
Dear Lynne, I thought I must know you as I played in Whitty's and Frenches and the Oxford with Sons of Agamemnon and solo and my own bands right through end 66, 67, 68, 69, 70. Many of the photos are familiar to me indeed I'm the unknown coming out of the water with Swannee at the Whitty's picnic. I lived for a time in the house at 290 Sth Dowling St with Wally as we had only moved down from 294 where we shared with Bob McGowan, Charlie Watts and Swannee.
I still stay in contact with many from that era, Bobbi (Marchini) sent your contact to me, we go over there and she comes here, same with Charlie. Red rang the other night and sent his wonderful CD, graciously inscribed. Our last trip to the East was with most of Southern Comfort . . . I love to keep contact. It'd be a lonely life without it.
